Levana Moshon


Levana Moshon, writer and journalist, writes fiction for adults and children.
Born in Tel Aviv – Israel, studied at the Talpiot religious school and completed first degree in Education and Geography at Bar Ilan University.

She has published over 41 books of prose for adults and youth. In 2009 she received the "ACUM" prize for adult literature  for  her work: "Feel my pains" and before that, in 2005, won the "ACUM" prize for children's literature  with the book "Letters from the garbage pile" (Keter Publishing, Jerusalem). 

Her first publications appeared in 1979 - in the series of music education at the Ministry of Education, called "Songs and stories", in which she wrote about how songs were born. She continued writing in the weekly series "Davar for Children" (youth magazine), which she published articles, sections and stories about 20 years. She also wrote daily for adults, children in newspapers, magazines, about art and education. Her stories were published in major literary magazines, and stories written for children passed through the radio program for children of "Voice of Israel" for years. Works in teaching children's literature and as a storyteller. Married, three children, lives in Givat Shmuel. Postgraduate workshops and writing guide, has extensive experience as a storyteller. 

In - 1981 she published her first two books: " Seeds of Dreams," a collection of stories of 42 characters in the history of Israel, and the novel called " Blue wool yarn". In 1988 she wrote two books on the 40th anniversary of Israel: "Travels with the State of Israel" and "Our State of Israel" (published by Keren Kayemet Le'Israel), translated into several languages, also into English.

Since then many books were published: the novel "Sour Love" (1996, publication of the Association of Writers and publishers Tammuz), " plucking strings", a book for youth ( 2001), for children, "Hana-a half  banana" ( 2000), seven books in a series of sayings and 10 books in the series "Stories of idioms ". Legends such as "The Cuckoo's bakery," "The farmer and his faithful horse," "Crown of Glass," "The tree of coins," "The Princess and the onion's tuber clothes" and much more. Her stories have appeared in anthologies such as "A miracle happened in 1964" (from "Kept in the Heart," 1999), " The boy who came from the sea "(from" Stories with wings ", 2005, published by Hakibbutz Hameuchad).

Other awards: In 1986 - was awarded by the Tel - Aviv Foundation for Literature and Art, in 1995 - won Tchernichovsky Writers Association, for poetry and prose, and again in 1995 won a scholarship from the project," Writer and teacher". In 2009 served as a "guest writer". She  met with school children as part of projects of the Ministry of Education. Even today, meets with students who want to learn about her work. 

Two of her stories were published in two anthologies of Israeli writers in Spanish, edited by Yaron Avitov. In the book "One God" (Paradiso editors, 2009, Ecuador)  was published the story: "Milk and honey." In "The Book of Peace '" (Paradiso editors, 2010, Ecuador) was published the story: " Amir, the prince of the village."
